Jerramungup District Motorcycle Club Opening Day & Go Moto

The Jerramungup District Motorcycle Club is hosting it's first Open Day for 2017 to be held on the 19th of March at its’ Needilup Park Track. The club was formed as there are a number of people in the local community that have an interest in motocross and enduro styles, but nowhere to ride. It was also recognised that there is a number of kids on farms that have bikes, that could benefit from learning more skills to develop their riding ability and improve safety on the farm.

The track itself is in its infancy and would be considered natural terrain mostly, but the club is pushing forward to give enthusiasts somewhere ride and hope to get some quality feedback from members and visitors to develop the track into something we can be really proud of.

This event is aimed at all riders for Two Wheelers and Quads and is the perfect opportunity for those that want to head somewhere different or have never ridden at a club before and are not sure where or how to get started.  Its focus is fun, safe riding and the committee will be on hand on the day to give more information.  A very low $10 track fee will be charged and memberships will be available on the day.

Motorcycling Western Australia’s Development Officer, Mark Gill, is heading to the club on the 17th and 18th to run a Coaching Seminar with some of our committee and members. He’s going to stay on and help our new coaches run the juniors 2 hour coaching clinic, small charge of $10, on the Sunday morning before they graduate to a run on the track in the afternoon.
To top this off Juniors aged 4 – 9 have the opportunity of applying for the “Free ticket to Ride” program, where Motorcycling Western Australia covers their first year’s mini recreation licence!

There will be Come and Try sessions available for any riders that have never been issued with one or held a Motorcycling Western Australia  Licence before.  There will also be separate sessions for those more experienced riders who have been involved in riding before will need to hold a current MWA licence to ride on the day.

Motorcycling Western Australia's CEO, Rick Gill, said in regards to Jerramungup Districts Motorcycle Club's opening "We are really looking forward to Jerramungup holding its first event. The new club and new track will provide a great opportunity for riders in the Great Southern, and we congratulate the club and the Jerramungup Shire Council for having the energy and vision to make this a reality"

The club will need some volunteers to help with flag duties so even if you aren’t a rider but want to get involved please come along!

The club would like to thank the following sponsors as they couldn’t have made it to this point without their generous donation.
