HARPER GAIN’S SRD SUPPORT AFTER JET CAMP 2017

Dandaragan youngster Lawson Harper is reaping the benefit from Motorcycling WA’s 2017 JET Camp held recently. After performing well and standing out Harper will receive continued support from Strickland Race Development to further his career.

The sixteen year old will campaign his YZ 125cc in the two local Enduro series with help from Midvale Yamaha who have kindly hooked him up with riding gear and accessories.
Harper will receive coaching and riding experience from SRD via their affiliation with the Ironstone Adventure Riding Club in Capel. Across 2017 he will be able to spend time riding and improving his technique from some of WA’s top Enduro riders as he strives to reach his goal of representing Australia at the International Six Days Enduro.

“Lawson embraced the camp which got the attention of all the coaches and presenters as someone who has what it takes to succeed. The camp is for Elite athletes and you had to really standout amongst your peers to have any chance of receiving further assistance” Commented camp coordinator Janine Wragg.
“It was not about babysitting for a week of school holidays it was getting a group of racers together to help improve their outlook on the big picture surrounding racing. Most people only consider race day but there is so much more to being successful and it is about rewarding those who showed potential and embraced the collective years all our presenters and coaches have in racing”
“Harper who comes from a rural area 200 kms North of Perth fitted the bill perfectly as he boards at Guildford Grammar whilst constantly achieving high grades in his schooling. He and his family travel many miles to the Enduro rounds and he understands that without 100% commitment and a good balance for schooling, riding and social activity he will not make it”
The 2018 JET Camp should be the target for any aspiring Motorcycle racer who is serious about furthering their career. So keep an eye open for details of the next camp on Motorcycling WA's website www.motorcyclingwa.org.au or Facebook Page
