30th Anniversary of the Cliffs King of the Cross

On August 5th and 6th the Southern Cross Motorcycle Club will be hosting the 30th anniversary of the Cliffs King of the Cross.

The Southern Cross Motorcycle Club is extremely appreciative of Cliffs Natural Recourses ongoing support of King of the Cross with 2017 being the fourth consecutive year of sponsoring the event.

Also back on board for its 10th year of sponsorship will be KTM sponsoring the KTM Kid of the Cross. The club is again extremely grateful to Jeff Leisk and KTM for their ongoing support and are proud to be hosting the KTM Kid of the Cross.

The township and shire of Yilgarn are behind this event and residents are looking forward to the 5th and 6th of August when motocross roars back into town.

As always the Juniors will be racing on Saturday in the KTM Kid of the Cross and the Seniors will be racing the on Sunday in the Cliffs King of the Cross.

With Jayden Rykers a confirmed starter it will be up to Dean Porter to defend his 2015 title. Previous winners of the event include Dean Porter in2015, Kirk Gibbs in 2013 and Jay Marmont in 2012. Jess Moore is currently the Queen of the Cross after taking the crown in 2015.

With over $18 000 in prize money on offer the Cliffs King of the Cross will attract some of the best competitors in Australia.

As always hole shot money is also up for grabs for the rider who makes it to the first corner first, so anyone can win some money at this event.

The track at Richie Kings Memorial Park in Southern Cross is a lot different to most tracks in Western Australia being hard pack. The club has spent countless hours re-surfacing the track adding fill and although the track lay out remains unchanged the surface is a lot different to what riders are used to at Southern Cross.

Having recently held an interclub event  on the new surface it is with great pleasure that the club would like to advise prospective competitors that the track held up extremely well and exceeded  the clubs expectations.  The feedback has been extremely positive with riders and spectators alike stating the new surface is nothing but “awesome”.

So get your entries now in for the Kid. Queen and  King of the Cross on August 5th & 6th and ride the all new track at Southern  Cross.
