The Historic Competition Motorcycle Club of WA, the promoter, invites entries from riders of log-booked historic motorcycles and sidecars to “Make Smoking History” at the Healthway “Make Smoking History” 2017 WA State Championship for Historic road racing motorcycles and sidecars.
The event will also the Motorcycling WA State Championship for Thunderbikes and for Junior 150 4 strokes.
The championships will be held at the Collie Motorplex, Coalfields Road, Collie, on the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend, 23-25 September 2017, the meeting is also Round 3 of the 2017 HCMC(WA) Club Championship.
The State Championship will be run under the auspices of Motorcycling Australia’s Manual of Motorcycle Sports, and is open to any MA log-booked motorcycle or sidecar. The event will also feature Thunderbikes and the Junior Road Racing WA State Championships for up to 150cc 4 strokes.

Entries close on 9 September 2017. NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED.
The club will hold their normal tuning day on Saturday 23rd September. Saturday tuning day riders require full leathers and safety gear, but can ride any motorcycle which is safe to ride – i.e. operating brakes, no oil leaks, serviceable tyres, drive-chain and suspension. Bikes do not need to be licensed or log-booked for the tuning day. Mirrors and lights should be removed or taped-over. There is always plenty of help for new riders to get your bike track-worthy.
Compulsory riders briefing is at 8AM. Typically the day consists of 10 minute sessions nominally for fast historic, slow historic, slow moderns, Juniors, fast modern and sidecars. More Information can be found on the HCMC website HERE
The Make Smoking History 2017 Historic Motorcycle and Sidecar Road Racing State Championship will be held over two days, Sunday 24th and Monday 25th. Open to any log-booked Historic Road Racing Motorcycle or sidecar outfit compliant with the Manual of Motorcycle Sports.
Open to all capacity classes from Periods 2 through to Period 6 and eligible sidecars, Thunder-bikes and Juniors (under 16) on 150cc 4 strokes.
Scrutineering of bikes and riders gear commences at 7.30am Sunday and the Compulsory riders briefing at 8AM.
(There may also be an official scrutineering session on Saturday after the tuning day).
Collie Motorplex offers a 1.6 km, slightly undulating track, racing anti-clockwise, 8 left-hand and 2 right-hand turns.
Located in a picturesque forest setting. 220 km South of Perth, an easy drive down the Freeway and Forest Highway, then into the hills to Collie.
Camping is available at the track for club members and race participants.
Food and drink (non-alcoholic) will be on sale.
Collie Motorplex is a non-smoking venue.
Entry for spectators is free.
