MWA assists the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale with "Outdoors October"

At Motorcycling WA a lot more goes on behind the scenes other than issuing permits, licenses, coaching, training, and updating social media.. The staff works hard to bring together programs and exciting new events and series for all disciplines to help encourage the growth of the sport.

To celebrate "Outdoors October" the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale headed outdoors during these school holidays with a range of sporting activities available to have a go.

There was Cricket, T-Ball, Soccer, Football, Netball, BMX and much more for the kids to have a go at and for the parents and caregivers to find out more about different sporting opportunities within their area. True Sport were also on hand to explain how their funding programs work within each Shire.

To represent Motorcycle Sport, Lightweight Motorcycle Club attended the event accompanied by Motorcycling Western Australia's Operations Manager, Mark Gill.

With a range of Five Star Yamaha's junior motorcycles for the kids to interact with, the display was a great attraction and stood out amongst the "ball sports".

It was also a great way to assist the local community with a school holiday program, educate the public and promote our sport in the process

Safety gear required for motorcycle riding was also on hand so the kids could see and try what riders have to wear to compete. The safety aspect of the MWA display was well embraced by the parents as was the level of safety MWA require to participate compared to other sports.

The was also some roving entertainment and other fun activities for the kids to enjoy throughout the day, free sausage sizzle and drink for the kids.

Motorcycling WA also had handouts, sticker packs and magazines to give away which were also a hit with the kids and brochures with information were available for parents to see how to get involved in the sport of motorcycling.

These types of events are fantastic to showcase our sport and Kris and Rebecca did a fantastic job giving all the information to those who attended.

If you hear of an event that may benefit from, or that our sport may benefit by Motorcycling WA's presence with a similar display please contact the MWA office.
