On the 1st of January 1994 Motorcycling Australia
implemented the National Officials' Accreditation Scheme.
This Scheme was established to:
· Increase confidence and competence in officiating
· Improve communication skills of officials
· Promote progressive improvement in officiating knowledge
and expertise
· Provide a credible education and training process to attract
new officials and retain existing ones
· Ensure a uniform approach to officiating throughout Australia
The following levels of accreditation are offered:
· Level 1 - club level
· Level 2 - interclub level
· Level 3 - open event / state championship level
· Level 4 - national championship level
· International level
In March 1994 Motorcycling Western Australia introduced
a new committee whose specific purpose was to oversee the accreditation
of officials in Western Australia.
These are the guidelines for the State Officials'
Review Board:
· To liaise with Motorcycling Australia and
the National Officials' Review Panel
· To assess the suitability of Level 1 & 2 officials
when asked to do so
· To review and accredit Level 3 officials
· To nominate officials for Level 4 to Motorcycling Australia
· To organise and conduct seminars, venues and presenters
within Western Australia
· To notify applicants of the success or otherwise of their
applications
· To establish a timetable of when and how often the State
Officials' Review Board should meet
· To review the performance and accreditation level of officials
who do not maintain the required standard
· To re-appraise accreditation levels of poorly performed
officials
· Accreditation of Levels 1 & 2 officials is an office
function and is at the total discretion of Motorcycling Western
Australia
· The correct forms must be used and
completed in the appropriate manner. The forms will be supplied
to the applicants from the Clubs.
· Applicants must submit a resume of any experience and involvement
in the sport
· Two passport type recent photos must be submitted with
the application.
· The application must be endorsed by the Club secretary
Details of the events at which the applicant has assisted/officiated
must be included with the application and for upgrading of the accreditation
level.
Applicants will be required to attend a training seminar
every three years and successfully complete the written assessment
to retain current accreditation levels or before the upgrading of
any accreditation level is approved.
To qualify for upgrading of accreditation levels
the following criteria applies:
LEVEL 1
The applicant must have assisted at 6 club events
LEVEL 1 to LEVEL 2
The applicant must have officiated at 4 club
events and assisted at 2 open events
LEVEL 2 to LEVEL 3
The applicant must have assisted at 4 open events
LEVEL 3 to LEVEL 4
The applicant must have assisted in the role
(eg Assistant Clerk of Course) at a national championship meeting
and successfully completed a training course. All Level 4 applications
are submitted to Motorcycling Australia for approval. |
