COME AND TRY MINIKHANA

1.         ABOUT MINIKHANA:
            Minikhana is a competition where aside from fun; the emphasis is on skill and rider control, not so much on speed. Aimed at kids the idea is to build up skill levels and confidence in young riders as they move into other motorcycle sports.

            Set up in small arena type areas in elimination heats are sets of witch’s hats in groups of 4 a Minicross track as well a Clover leaf circuit. The aim is to ride off up to 4 riders at a time, each rider being on an individual lane, with the first one crossing the line the winner. Each witches hats group has a set pattern that must be completed correctly to be scored.

1.1       MINIKHANA RULES:
            A  One Bike One Rider. One Bike One Rider
            B  All riding to be confined to the approved grounds
            C  Riders must obey directions or signals given by the Marshalls/officials at all times.
            D  No pillion riders allowed on bikes.
            E  A rider may be eliminated if not on the start line within 2 minutes of being called to the line.
            F  All riders must follow the group Marshall/Official in an orderly fashion from the pit area to the                               riding area.
            G  Good sportsmanship is high on the list, with riders encouraged to congratulate each other after each                                  heat.
            H The maximum sized bike that can be entered is a 85cc 2 stroke or 150cc 4stroke. Minikhana is not suitable for full sized motorcycles. Minikhana is not suitable for Quad bikes, only 2 wheeled bikes

2.         PARENT PARTICIPATION:
            Riders who intend to practice or participate must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who may be required to do marshal duty if called upon to do so. The Steward/s of the meeting reserve the right to withdraw any rider of the event if the parent or nominated person refuses to carry out such duties without showing just cause.

3.         ABOUT MACHINE EXAMINATION:
    All motorcycles are to be subjected to mechanical examination before commencement of proceedings  
    on the day of riding.
    Riders must present themselves fully dressed in approved clothing with their machine, to the machine
    examiner for examination before commencement of the riding.


3.1a     MACHINE:
            Efficient Brakes, An ignition cut out switch on the handle bars, Handle Bar Pads, Handle Bar ends must be plugged, No Bark Busters, All glass and plastic lenses shall be either removed or covered with tape, mufflers properly packed to eliminate excessive noise

3.1b     RIDER:
            Helmet – correctly sized for rider to suit Australian standards.
            Clothing – Trousers of leather or synthetic non-combustible material, Long sleeve shirt or jersey, snug fitting.
            Footwear – Boots leather or synthetic with adequate protection above the ankle.
            Gloves – Must be worn at all times whilst riding.
            Goggles – Must be worn at all times whilst riding.
            Hair – Longer than shoulder length must be confined in the helmet or Jersey.
            Body Jewellery – is to be removed or taped.
            Body Armour – Commercially manufactured body armour must be worn.

4.         LICENSING:
            It is the requirement of Motorcycling Western Australia that each participant is the holder of a licence, for this event the minimum licence required is a one event recreational licence priced at $20.00 per rider. If this is the first time you have participated in an event run by an affiliated club of Motorcycling WA you will be eligible for this licence at no charge, as an incentive for first time participants this licence is called a come and try licence and you may use it for FREE for this event.

            If you have already been a participant of a come and try licence or a holder in previous years of an annual recreational licence or annual competition licence you may purchase a one event recreational licence for $20.00.

            If you are the holder of a Junior National Licence a Recreational Licence or a Mini licence then you are only required to fill in the licence number and expiry date on the entry form.

6.         ENTRIES:
6.1.      Entries open online 28th October and close 3rd December 2009.

6.2.      NOTE: LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED ON THE DAY AT A COST OF $20.00. THE RETURN OF ENTRY FEES FOR ANY RIDER WITHDRAWING FROM THE MEETING IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BUNBURY MOTORCYCLE CLUB.

7.         MEDICAL SERVICES:
            St Johns Ambulance Service will be in attendance.

8.         ENTRY FEE: $15.00 FOR ON LINE ENTRY. $20.00 TO ENTER ON THE DAY.

9.         CLUB AMENITIES:
            Full Canteen facilities will be provided by the Bunbury Motorcycle Club, ablution block on site.

10.       GENERAL RULES:
            No alcoholic beverages allowed in pits or racing circuit.
            There will be no riding of bikes other than on the track.
         Machines must be pushed to and from vehicles and in and out of the pits. Engine may be running to assist.
         Dogs will not be permitted (except guide dogs).
         Enclosed footwear must be worn in the pits and within the competition arena at all times.
         No quads or scooters permitted within the pits.
         No Smoking in the Pits

12.       ANNOUNCEMENT:
            The Bunbury Motorcycle Club, hereafter called the PROMOTER will conduct Come and Try Minikhana at Shrubland Park, on 6th December 2009 .

13.       JURISDICTION:
13.1.   The abovementioned meeting has been authorized by Motorcycling Western Australia which has issued the Motorcycling Australia Permit Number 2009-TBA and is open to holders of current Motorcycling Australia Junior National Licence, Junior Club Licence, Annual Recreational License, Mini Licence and Single Recreational Activity Licence and Come and Try Licence. 

13.2.   The meeting will be held in accordance with the current General Competition Rules (GCRs), these Supplementary Regulations, and any Final Instructions approved by Motorcycling Western Australia

BY ENTERING THIS MEETING ALL PARTIES AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES, REGULATIONS, BY-LAWS AND INSTRUCTIONS.

14.       CODE OF CONDUCT:
            All Competitors, Officials and Parents are reminded of the Motorcycling Australia By-Law – CODE OF CONDUCT (as stipulated in the GCRs) which is a guide to appropriate behaviour at all Motorcycle Race Meetings.  This CODE OF CONDUCT applies to this Meeting and will be enforced.

Bunbury is about 160 km from Perth, take the Perth-Bunbury Highway. Bunbury Motorcross track (Shrubland Park) is located between the Bunbury airport and speedway on the North Boyanup Road Aprox. 3  Kms from the Bunbury Bypass (Robertson Drive) Traffic Lights.
