Sunday 1st June is midway through the road race season with Round 3 of the six round Synergy Surveys WA State Road Racing Championships, to be held at CARCO.com.au Raceway (Wanneroo). Whilst the early weather forecast is for a less than perfect day, the racing is sure to be top notch. Practice from 9.00am with racing scheduled to start at 10.30am approximately.
In the Dynapumps State Superbike Championship all of the regular riders will be on the grid plus Jayden Martin will be there after returning from the UK where he races in the British Superbikes. Current Championship leader Sam Clarke (RS36 Suzuki GSXR1000) is in great form and will surely be the man to beat. He has 112 points after Round 2 with Ben Stronach (Grundfos Yamaha R1) sitting in second spot with 83 points and Adam Senior (Senior Engineering Yamaha R1) in third place with74 points. Martin is currently sitting in seventh position on 58 points having only contested the first round, but he showed he had great form and could chase down his mentor Sam.
In the RS Contracting Superbike C-Grade Series Reece Southern (All Aspects Landscaping Kawasaki ZX-10) is the current leader on 92 points but following his crash at the Collie round will take no further part for the foreseeable future. Second is Andrew Shields (Yamaha R1) with 88 points and third is Mitchell Carr (Campbell Road Automotive & MC HondaCBR1000RR-R SP) with 83 points.
In the Cullys Yamaha Supersport Championship the runaway championship leader is Callum O’Brien Road 2 Race Kawasaki ZX-6R) who is the man to beat with 125 points. In second place is Jordan White5 Star Yamaha – Yamaha R6) with 98 points and Adam Senior (Senior Engineering Honda CBR600RR) in third place on 88 points. Fourth place belongs to Calvin Moylan (Hydro-Pneumatics Yamaha R6) with 84 points and rounding out the top five is Hayden Treversh (Turn 1 Motorsports Kawasaki ZX-6R) with 81 points. Any of the top five is capable of winning a race.
In the Northside Motorcycles Supersport C-Grade Series Hayden Treversh leads with 50 points, Lauchy Williams (Mintox Crew Yamaha R6) holds down second place with 40 points and Ryan Pietsch (Go Moto Store Yamaha R6) is third with 35 points just a solitary point ahead of fourth placed Ryan McGovern (Torque Spec Yamaha R6).
The flashpixx.net Sidecar Championship has Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone (RHR Racing Kawasaki ZX-10) unbeaten after 5 races with 125 points. In second place are Murray Stronach/Darryl McLeod (Lances Panel & Paint Suzuki GSXR1000) with 87 points and tied on 86 points are Morgan Marshall/Matt McLeish (PDA Caravan Repairs Kawasaki ZX-10) and father-son Robert & Hamish Taylor (Turret Engineering Suzuki GSXR1000). Nash/Mapstone are the pairing to beat, but any of the top four can win if things go awry!! And one should never discount Graeme Evans/Robert Dillon (RHR Kawasaki ZX-10) who can run with the best of them. The pairing missed Round 2 due to Graeme’s work commitments.
Best of the short outfits are Nicola Caddy/ David Gardiner (Collie Motorplex Kawasaki ZX-6R) in fifth place on 67 points.
The Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycles Production Championship will probably see four young guns battle it out for the round win. Championship leader after two rounds is Lauchy Williams (Trakdayz Yamaha R3) with 115 points, second is Joel Jenzen (Highway Helpers Yamaha R3) with 89 points, going into this round Kobi Treversh (Yamaha R3) is in third place with 87 points, but unfortunately, he will miss this round. Emily O’Brien will also be missing from this round as she recovers from injury. Having missed rounds 1 & 2 due to OJC/ ASBK commitments both Rossi McAdam (Ma17tin Coaching Yamaha R3) and Stevie Middlebrook (Trakdayz Yamaha R3) will enter the fray, and you can be assured they will
be putting the pressure on Williams and Jenzen at the front of the field.
In the On Track Motorcycles Production Lights Series Rob Wheeler (Waroona Electrical Services Kawasaki Ninja 300) leads the Series with 100 points, second is Keith Alexander (Errigal Construction Pty Ltd Kawasaki Ninja 300) with 60 points and Dain Hutton (On Track Motorcycles Kawasaki Ninja 300) rounds out the podium placings on 38 points.
In the SBK Imports Clubman Series it will be a battle between Will Power (Virtue Roofing Yamaha R1) and Luke Whillians (Yamaha R1) if the recent Historic Round is anything to go by. Add in Craig Hutchinson (MINTOX Racing Ducati V2 Panigale), Angelo Antoni (Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycles Honda CBR 600RR and Craig Eldridge (Yamaha R6) and it should be an exciting three races.
The Turn One Motorsports Junior State Road Racing Championship will be having their first round (of 3) of the season at this meeting with five entrants. I predict that Rossi McAdam (Ma17tin Coaching Yamaha R15) will take the round win from Joel Jenzen (Highway Helpers Yamaha R15) with Stevie Middlebrook (Ma17tin Coaching Yamaha R15) filling the minor podium place.
Practice from 9.00am with racing scheduled to start at 10.30am
Round 4 September 7, Round 5 October 5 (Collie) Round 6 Final November 8-9 incorporating the Australian Sidecar
Championships final.
