On Sunday 9th November the best Road Racers in the West gathered at CARCO.com.au Raceway for the final round of the Synergy Surveys WA STATE Road Racing Championships, which also incorporated the fifth and Final Round of the National Sidecar Championships. Seven teams made the trek across the Nullabor to contest the round putting seventeen outfits on the grid. What a fitting end to the 70th Year of the Club.
The Dynapumps Superbike State Championship got the day’s proceedings underway, and whilst the Championship was already won with Sam Clarke (RS36 Suzuki GSX-R1000) on 321 points and his nearest rival Ben Stronach (Grundfos Yamaha R1) having 245 points. Clarke was determined to put on a show for the spectators, and he certainly didn’t disappoint. He took the three wins on the day and was never troubled. In Race 1 Stronach finished in second place with Jayden Martin (Aussie Moto Engineering Yamaha R1) who started from rear of grid as he missed the previous round due to his British Superbike Championship commitments finishing a strong third. Race 2 saw the same three riders at the front of the field with Martin and Stronach swapping places. In the final race Clarke and Martin again finished first and second with Ross Hudson (Track Action Yamaha R1) finishing third after Stronach incurred a 15 second penalty. Points for the meeting saw Clarke with 75, Martin with 58 and Stronach with 53 points.
2025 Overall in the Superbike Championship Clarke finished the year on 396 points, second was Stronach on 298 points with Adam Senior (Senior Engineering Yamaha R1) third on 292 points.
In the RS Contracting Superbike C Grade Series the top three on the day were Andrew Shields (Yamaha R1) with 75 points, second was Josh Norman (BMW S1000RR) with 56 points and third was Paul Davies (Motorcycle Assist BMW S1000RR) with 40 points.
2025 Overall Shields won the Series with 355 points, second was Chris Cull (Oxford Project Services BMW S1000RR) with 251 points and Norman was third on 199 points.
In the Cully’s Yamaha Supersport State Championship Callum O’Brien (Premier Services Australia Kawasaki ZX-6R) took three wins on the day but it wasn’t enough for him to retain the #1 plate, having missed the previous round due to his ASBK duties. In Race 1 Jordan White (Five Star Yamaha R6) was second with Paul Hammond (Honda CBR600RR) third. In Race 2 the minor placings were reversed. In the final race Hammond was again the runner-up to O’Brien with Adam Senior (Senior Engineering Honda CBR600RR) after White received a 15 second penalty for Track Limits at Turn 3. O’Brien won the meeting with 75 points, second was Hammond with 56 points and third was White on 54 points,
The winner of the 2025 Supersport Championship was Jordan White with 339 points, second was O’Brien with 309 points and third was Senior also with 309 points after a count back.
In the Northside Motorcycles Supersport C Grade Series the top three on the day were Paul Hammond (Honda CBR600RR) with 75 points, second was Ryan Pietsch (Go Moto Store Yamaha R6) with 58 points and in third place was Lauchy Williams (Onyabike Adventures Yamaha R6) with 56 points.
2025 Overall Hayden Treversh won the series with 324 points with Pietsch in second place on 304 points with Williams in third place with 284 points.
In the flashpixx.net Sidecar State Championship it was a day of racing in two parts. On one hand we had the final of the Australian Sidecar Championships yet in the same race we had all the local outfits vying for the 2025 WA State Sidecar Championship. In the Australian F1 Sidecar Championship it was a battle between Jamie Crass/Lee Menzies(BALTER F1 Suzuki) and Patrick Clancy/Stephen Bonney(J&C Contracting F1 Suzuki) and it all seemed to be going Clancy/Bonney’s way until a racing incident in the final race between them and Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone forced them to retire leaving the way clear for Crass/Menzies to grab both the Race 3 win and the 2025 Australian F1 Sidecar Championship with a score of 305 points. Clancy/Bonney were second with 276 points with Terry Rayner/Lynette Clark (Certify Skills Training F1 Suzuki) third with 162 points.
In the Australian F2 Championship Michael Alton/David Rumble (J&C Contracting F2 Suzuki) won all three races on the day to take the Title for 2025 with 429 points. Second were Royce Rowe/ Leonard Rowe (Rowe Racing F2 Suzuki) with 329 points, an interesting fact is these were the only two teams in the Australian Championship that contested every round, congratulations to them!! Chrissie Clancy/Amanda Williams (DeWith Motorsports F2 Suzuki) took third place with 249 points.
In the WA State Championship Race 1 Graeme Evans/Robert Dillon (RHR Kawasaki ZX-10) were the first WA outfit home in third place, followed by Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone (RHR Kawasaki ZX-10) in fourth place with Robert & Hamish Taylor (Turret Engineering Suzuki 1000) in sixth place. Hugh Briotti/Stephanie Bowater (Briotti Motorsport Honda 600) was the best placed F2 outfit in tenth place. In Race 2 Nash/Mapstone won the race, the Taylor’s finished fourth with Morgan Marshall/Matt McLeish (City Panel beaters Kawasaki ZX-10) were sixth.
In the Formula 2 class it was Steven McQueen/Max Perrin who finished in eighth place. In Race 3 Tom Quaye/Angus Easton/ Robert Dillon (Meon Valley Racing Suzuki GSX-R 1000) were the best placed WA outfit in second place with the Taylor’s finishing in third, Marshall/McLeish were fourth with Murray Stronach/Darryl McLeod (Turnapart Engineering Suzuki GSX-R 1000) finished fifth. McQueen/Perrin were the best placed of the F2.
Nash/Mapstone won the round with 54 points, in second place were Robert & Hamish Taylor with 50 points and third were Marshall/ McLeish with 40 points.
State Champions for 2025 were Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone with 324 points, second were Robert & Hamish Taylor with 303 points and third were Morgan Marshall/Matt McLeish with 252 points. F2 Series winners were Steven McQueen/Max Perrin with 235 points.
In the Ducati Perth BEARS Series, we saw three different winners on the day with Ross Hudson (Track Action Ducati 1199S Panigale) winning the first from Paul Davies (Northside Motorcycles BMW S1000RR) and Chris Cull (Oxford Project Services BMW S1000RR) with Craig Hutchinson (MINTOX Racing Ducati Panigale V2) the best of the F2 in fourth place. In Race 2 Josh Norman (BMW S1000RR) took the win from Hutchinson with Ryan Caldwell (EAC Systems Aus Ducati Panigale V4). Race 3 saw Davies take the win from Norman with Caldwell in third place. Davies won the round with 63 points from Caldwell with 55 points and Norman with 45 points. In the F2 division Hutchinson took the win with 75 points with Martin Calley (Campbell Road Automotive & M/C Triumph Daytona 675) with 60 points and Dean Thompson (DTG Equipment Triumph Daytona 675) with 53 points.
BEARS Formula 1 Series winner for 2025 was Ross Hudson with 268 points second was Chris Cull with 234 points and third was Paul Davies with 209 points. In the Formula 2 Craig Hutchinson took the win with 240 points, second was Martin Cally with 200 points and third was Paros Huckstepp with 173 points. It was good to see the return of this class of racing and hopefully we will see more punters on the grid next season.
In the Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycles Production Championship three riders dominated the day. Lauchy Williams (Onyabike Adventures Yamaha R3) won all three very close races. In Race 1 he beat Joel Jenzen (Goodyear Esperance Yamaha R3) and Luke Warner (Metro Motorcycle Training Kawasaki Ninja 400) with under 2 seconds between them. Races 2 & 3 were repeats also with less than 2 seconds covering the trio. Williams won the round with 75 points; Jenzen was second with 60 points and Warner rounded out the top three with 54 points. Willams took the Championship win 335 points, second was Jenzen with 319 points and Rob Wheeler (Waroona Electrical Services Kawasaki Ninja 300) was third with212 points.
In the On Track Motorcycle Production Lights Series newcomer Ashley Thorman (Kawasaki Ninja 300) took a win, second and third to win the round with 63 points, second was Will Trundle (Motomart AU Kawasaki Ninja 300) with two second and a third place for 58 points. And Rob Wheeler (Waroona Electrical Services Kawasaki Ninja 300) with a DNF and two wins for 50 points was third.
2025 Series top three were Rob Wheeler with 334 points, second was Tahlia Lang with 195 points (missing from the final round) and third was Keith Alexander with 164 points.
In the Westwide Air Conditioning Services Stars of Tomorrow Series four riders shared the top three positions over the three races. Barry Hickey (Piara Bricklaying Yamaha R1) was unstoppable notching three wins from as many starts, Luke Whillians (Marechal Electric Australia Yamaha R1) took three second places and Will Power (Track Action Yamaha R1) with two third places and Martin Monahan (OCC Construction Kawasaki ZX-10R) took third place in the second race.
The overall ‘Star of Tomorrow’ for 2025 is Luke Whillians with 203 points, second is Barry Hickey with 171 points and third is Will Power with 154 points.
In the ‘Star of Tomorrow – Clubman 600’ the Series leader going into this round Angelo Antoni (Campbell Road Automotive & M/C Honda CBR 600RR) had a horror start in the quest for a Series win with a crash in Race 1, managing to restart and gain just a solitary point. Joel Cally (Honda CBR600RR) won the round with 70 points, second was Thomas Kelleher (MINTOX Racing Yamaha R6) with 61 points and third was Marc Cartier (Quantum Electrical Yamaha R6) with 55 points.
The 2025 ‘Series winner in the Stars of Tomorrow Clubman 600 was Angelo Antoni with 174 points, second was Josh King (JK Mechanical Services Yamaha R6) with 164 points and third was Joel Calley with 157 points.
